Full Description

A tranquil oasis in central London - live aboard the historic Dutch Barge Cornelia on the River Thames. This is a special opportunity to reside in this lovely community among award-winning gardens. The original “captains cabin" is comprised of a light and airy wheelhouse above, and the original crews quarters (recently renovated). The space contains a kitchen (with fridge/freezer, kettle and hotplate), shower, toilet, bed and in-built sofa. The space is much roomier than you would expect on a boat and is very comfortable! There is a double bed in a raised cubby and high quality bed linens available if needed. There is central heating in both the wheelhouse and the crews quarters, and it is incredibly warm and cozy. The occupant has exclusive access to the wheelhouse with stunning 360 views of the mooring gardens, River Thames and Tower Bridge. Plus, access to a small outside deck. The space is completely separate to the main occupants and has a private entrance. This is suitable for a single occupancy for a professional (occasional overnight guest okay). We are flexible to different day combinations - the price requested is based on Mon-Fri. We will also consider less days for less money. It is important to us to find the right person. We are an easygoing professional couple (Curator at London Zoo and Publishing professional) with a 6 year old daughter who have been boat dwellers for over a decade. We live in the hold section of the boat, and are on hand most of the time - but the spaces are separate and each have their own kitchen/bathroom/entrance. The moorings is a wonderful community and there is plenty of opportunity to socialise (film nights, book club, craft club) but it is also very private and tranquil. Strictly no smokers and no parties.

Close to London Bridge, Tower Bridge, Bermondsey and close easy links to Bank, LIverpool Street, Canary Wharf and the City. The boat is located on a residential moorings in a secure gated community with award-winning gardens. It is a quiet oasis in a bustling city. Closest tube is London Bridge, Bermondsey and Tower Bridge (all about 10-15 walk). Very close to buses 188, 381, 47, C10 (5 minute walk). The mooring is a delightful community and there is a book club, craft club and several opportunities for socialising. It is also quiet and private - so the best of both worlds! Several excellent resturants, bars and local shops nearby.
