The Room

My flat could not be any closer to public transport as it is literally over the railway line. If you love the noise of trains then leave your window open! Double glazing blocks the noise out if you keep it shut. My flat is right on Chamberlayne Road. There are plenty of artisan coffee shops, cool eateries, pubs and very expensive clothes shops all right outside my front door. Queens park is 5 minutes walk or so.

The Household

Just me - I'm originally from Wales. I'm 63, young at heart and creative. I have several part time jobs but my passion is filmmaking. In my spare time I make films and learn Russian. I have a large family.

Other

The room is only available on Monday nights. The transport links from Kensal Rise are limitless. You can literally get anywhere very easily. Kensal Rise Overground will take you to West Hampstead which connects to the Jubilee Line and also to Thameslink. Kensal Green is 10 minutes walk which is on the Bakerloo line. The bus routes take you direct to Shaftesbury Avenue, Victoria, Knightsbridge. I have lived in London for over 40 years and Kensal Rise has the best transport links I've ever experienced.

Location

Kensal Rise has become a fashionable area to live. It is peaceful, with young families choosing to live around the local parks. Chamberlayne Road, where my flat is situated, has plenty to offer in terms of coffee shops, cafés, restaurants and a popular pub which serves lunch and dinner. There is a local Tesco 2 minutes walk down the hill and an organic food shop right next door to my flat, beside the coffee shop. Queens Park itself is lovely to hang out in. There are tennis and golf courts, two table tennis tables and a café which serves coffee, pastries, home made cakes, snacks and home cooked breakfast and lunch. My flat is opposite Kensal Rise Overground. If you love the noise of trains then leave your window open! Double glazing block the noise out if you keep it shut. My flat is right on Chamberlayne Road. There are plenty of artisan coffee shops, cool eateries, pubs and very expensive clothes shops all right outside my front door. Queens park is 5 minutes walk or so.
